FD Email Templates extension privacy notice
Effective September 24, 2026. Forensic Discovery, LLC provides FD Email Templates for authorized employees using company Google Workspace accounts. This notice describes the Chrome extension and its connection to the company Template Manager. The company website has a separate website privacy policy.
What the extension does
The extension adds a template picker to an open Gmail compose window. An employee can browse and search company templates, enter personalization values, preview the result, and choose to insert it into the active draft. The employee reviews and sends the email in Gmail. The extension cannot send email on its own.
Information handled
- Company account and template library: The separate Template Manager uses the employee’s company Google sign-in to authorize read-only template and folder requests from the extension. Those requests use the existing manager session. The manager stores company template records and authoring audit events.
- Active Gmail draft: The extension works with the visible compose window to insert selected template content. It can use display names in the active To field to suggest editable first names. The selected template, optional first-name suggestions, and values the employee enters are processed in the compose page to preview or insert the draft. The extension does not send the recipient names, draft text, subject, or personalization values to the Template Manager.
- Local preference: After a successful insertion, the extension stores only the selected template’s ID in Gmail-origin browser local storage. It uses that ID to preselect the template next time. The value remains until it is replaced or the relevant browser data is cleared.
Use and sharing
The extension uses this information only to provide the company template picker and draft insertion. It does not read unrelated mailbox content, track recipients, use analytics, run remotely hosted code, sell user data, or use the information for advertising or lending decisions. Library requests go to Forensic Discovery’s authenticated Template Manager. The extension does not transfer compose content or recipient names to that service or to another service.
Access, retention, and choices
The extension is intended for employees authorized by Forensic Discovery. Company administrators control access to the Template Manager and the Chrome Web Store item. Clearing Gmail site data removes the locally remembered template ID; disabling or removing the extension stops its Gmail compose interaction. Company template records and manager audit events are retained according to company controls; this extension does not set a fixed retention period for those records.
